Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).
Objective: The Certified Social Media Designer course is designed to empower learners with the creative and strategic skills required to design engaging visual content tailored for various social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube. The course focuses on platform-specific design requirements, audience engagement strategies, branding consistency, and visual storytelling. Learners will gain proficiency in tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, and Figma to create posts, stories, banners, reels/thumbnails, ads, and infographics.
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.
Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.
Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.
Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.
Assessment Modules:
Module 1: Introduction to Social Media Design: Understanding the role of a social media designer, Overview of major platforms and content formats (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest), Design goals for engagement and branding, Key differences between digital and print design, Basics of target audience and visual communication, Trends and best practices in social media design.
Module 2: Branding and Visual Identity for Social Media: Creating consistent brand identity across platforms, Using brand colors, fonts, and logos effectively, Designing branded templates and reusable layouts, Designing profile images, cover banners, and highlight icons, Creating visual themes for campaigns and promotions, Ensuring accessibility and readability in designs.
Module 3: Content Design for Different Platforms: Designing for platform-specific dimensions and ratios (posts, stories, reels, ads), Carousel post layout and storytelling techniques, Thumbnail design for video platforms (YouTube, Instagram), Event banners and promotional graphics, Ad creatives and call-to-action visuals, Understanding platform-specific design limitations and guidelines.
Module 4: Tools and Techniques for Social Media Design: Using Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma for social design, Smart object usage and non-destructive editing, Layer management and template creation, Using mockups for realistic previews, Exporting for web: file formats, compression, and quality control, Mobile-first design and previewing for devices.
Module 5: Motion and Interactive Elements: Creating animated posts and reels using After Effects or Canva Pro, Simple motion graphics for engagement, Designing GIFs, stickers, and short loops, Adding transitions and text animations, Integrating sound or subtitles where applicable, Exporting animated content for platforms.
Module 6: Project Work and Portfolio Development: Designing a social media kit for a brand (logo, post, story, highlight), Planning and designing a month-long content calendar with visuals, Simulating real-world briefs and feedback process, Preparing content for scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite, Buffer), Creating a digital portfolio with project showcases, Presenting and sharing social media design work professionally.
GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:
- Duration- 60 minutes.
- Number of Questions- 30.
- Number of Questions from each module: 5.
- Language: English.
- Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
- Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
- There is no negative marking in any module.
