Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Political Journalism: Role and responsibilities of a political journalist, History and evolution of political reporting, Understanding political systems and ideologies, Key institutions of government (executive, legislature, judiciary), Relationship between media and democracy, Ethical challenges and objectivity in political journalism.

Module 2: Political Reporting Techniques: Covering elections, campaigns, and political rallies, Writing political news, analysis, and opinion pieces, Interviewing politicians, officials, and experts, Live reporting from parliaments, press conferences, and political events, Investigating corruption, lobbying, and policy issues, Reporting on political protests, controversies, and conflict.

Module 3: Understanding Policy and Governance: Basics of public policy and legislative processes, Interpreting budgets, bills, and government reports, Monitoring ministries, regulatory bodies, and political appointments, Explaining governance impact on citizens and sectors, Covering regional, national, and international politics, Evaluating political promises, manifestos, and outcomes.

Module 4: Political Communication and Media Influence: Role of public relations and political spin, Media framing, agenda setting, and narrative building, Political advertising, propaganda, and disinformation, Covering press briefings and analyzing speeches, Social media’s impact on political discourse, Analyzing political debates and televised addresses.

Module 5: Legal, Ethical, and Security Concerns: Freedom of the press and censorship issues, Defamation, contempt of court, and election commission guidelines, Reporting during emergencies, unrest, or conflict zones, Ensuring safety while covering sensitive political topics, Balancing neutrality and advocacy, Handling anonymous sources and leaks responsibly.

Module 6: Career Development and Political Journalism Trends: Building a political journalism portfolio, Specializing in beats like elections, policy, diplomacy, or regional politics, Freelancing vs working with media houses or think tanks, Networking with political analysts, journalists, and institutions, Covering international politics and diplomatic affairs, Staying updated with trends, platforms, and regulatory changes.
