Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).
Objective: The Certified Narrative Designer (Games) course is designed to develop specialized skills in crafting immersive, engaging, and interactive stories for video games and other interactive media. The course covers narrative theory, character development, world-building, branching storylines, dialogue writing, and integrating storytelling with gameplay mechanics.
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.
Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.
Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.
Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Fundamentals of Narrative Design in Games: Understanding the role of narrative design in game development, Differences between narrative design and traditional storytelling, Key storytelling elements (plot, character, setting, theme), Narrative structures in games (linear, branching, emergent), Player agency and interactive storytelling, Case studies of narrative-driven games.
Module 2: Character Development and Dialogue Writing: Creating compelling and believable game characters, Character arcs and motivation, Writing authentic and engaging dialogue, Dialogue trees and branching conversations, Voice and tone consistency, Integrating narrative with gameplay mechanics.
Module 3: Worldbuilding and Environmental Storytelling: Designing immersive game worlds and lore, Using environmental details to tell stories, Incorporating cultural, historical, and thematic elements, Balancing exposition with player discovery, Tools for worldbuilding documentation, Examples of successful environmental storytelling.
Module 4: Narrative Design Tools and Techniques: Software and platforms for narrative design (Twine, Articy Draft, Ink), Scripting interactive narratives, Creating flowcharts and storyboards, Collaborative workflows with game designers and developers, Prototyping and testing narrative elements, Version control and documentation best practices.
Module 5: Integrating Narrative with Game Mechanics: Aligning story progression with gameplay loops, Designing narrative-driven quests and missions, Player choice and consequence systems, Managing pacing and narrative timing, Balancing challenge and story immersion, Techniques for emergent narrative design.
Module 6: Narrative Testing, Evaluation, and Career Development: Playtesting narrative elements and gathering player feedback, Analyzing narrative effectiveness and player engagement, Iterating story design based on data, Preparing a narrative design portfolio, Networking in the game industry, Career pathways and professional growth as a narrative designer.
GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

- Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
- Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
