Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Media Ethics: Definition and scope of media ethics, Importance of ethical standards in journalism and mass communication, Historical development of media ethics, Key principles: truth, accuracy, fairness, independence, and accountability, Codes of ethics from global media organizations (SPJ, IFJ, Press Councils), Distinction between law and ethics in media practice.

Module 2: Ethical Challenges in News and Journalism: Balancing public interest with individual privacy, Handling misinformation, sensationalism, and fake news, Ethical sourcing and use of anonymous sources, Conflict of interest and editorial independence, Coverage of crime, tragedy, and vulnerable groups, Reporting in war zones and crisis situations.

Module 3: Ethics in Digital and Social Media: Digital journalism ethics and online credibility, Responsibility in sharing and moderating user-generated content, Dealing with trolling, cyberbullying, and cancel culture, Ethical use of AI, algorithms, and data in media, Influencer and branded content transparency, Intellectual property and digital rights.

Module 4: Ethics in Entertainment and Advertising Media: Representation and stereotypes in films, TV, and advertising, Product placement and subliminal messaging, Truthfulness and responsibility in advertising claims, Children and media ethics, Cultural sensitivity and global standards, Role of content rating systems and regulatory bodies.

Module 5: Media Regulation and Legal Frameworks: Overview of media laws and their ethical implications, Press freedom vs national security, Libel, slander, and defamation laws, Privacy rights and consent, Media self-regulation bodies and complaint mechanisms, Comparative analysis of regulatory practices in different countries.

Module 6: Ethical Decision-Making and Professional Practice: Models for ethical reasoning and case analysis (Potter Box, SAD model), Analyzing real-life ethical dilemmas in media, Creating and applying newsroom ethical policies, Role of ombudsman and public editors, Professional integrity and whistleblowing, Career paths and responsibilities of a Media Ethics Specialist.

  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
