Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/AD/CID/V1
Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).
Objective: The Certified Illustration Designer course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to create professional illustrations for books, magazines, advertisements, digital media, and animation. The course covers illustration techniques, digital and traditional drawing, composition, color theory, visual storytelling, character and environment illustration, software tools (such as Adobe Illustrator or Procreate), and portfolio development.
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.
Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.
Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.
Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Fundamentals of Illustration Design: Introduction to illustration design, History and evolution of illustration, Principles of visual communication, Elements of art (line, shape, color, texture, space), Understanding composition and perspective, Case studies of notable illustrators
Module 2: Drawing and Concept Development: Sketching and ideation techniques, Character and environment design, Conceptual illustration creation, Storyboarding and narrative visualization, Thumbnailing and layout planning, Iteration and refinement processes
Module 3: Digital Illustration Techniques: Overview of digital illustration tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate), Vector vs raster illustration, Layering, blending, and brush techniques, Color theory and digital palettes, Texture creation and application, Exporting and file optimization
Module 4: Traditional Media and Mixed Techniques: Pencil, ink, watercolor, and acrylic techniques, Mixed media approaches, Surface treatments and textures, Combining digital and traditional methods, Experimentation and creative expression, Preservation and archiving of artworks
Module 5: Specialized Illustration Areas: Editorial and book illustration, Concept art and character illustration, Technical and scientific illustration, Packaging and advertising illustration, Infographics and visual storytelling, Style exploration and adaptation
Module 6: Professional Practice and Portfolio Development: Building a professional illustration portfolio, Presenting work to clients and publishers, Freelancing and agency collaboration, Copyright and intellectual property considerations, Networking and industry participation, Continuous skill development and keeping up with trends
GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:
- Duration- 60 minutes.
- Number of Questions- 30.
- Number of Questions from each module: 5.
- Language: English.
- Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
- Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
- There is no negative marking in any module.
