Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/AT/CFTT/V1

Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Fiber Testing Technician course aims to equip participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to perform accurate testing and analysis of textile fibers. The course covers fiber identification techniques, fiber fineness and length measurement, moisture content analysis, tensile strength testing, and other key fiber properties. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Fiber Testing: Overview of Fiber Testing, Importance of Fiber Testing in the Textile Industry, Types of Fibers (Natural, Synthetic, Blended), Role and Responsibilities of a Fiber Testing Technician, Key Testing Standards and Guidelines (ISO, ASTM, AATCC), Common Fiber Defects and Their Impact on Textile Products.

Module 2: Physical Properties of Fibers: Measuring Fiber Length and Length Distribution, Testing Fiber Fineness and Diameter (Micronaire, Fiber Density), Determining Fiber Strength (Tensile Strength, Breaking Elongation), Measuring Fiber Elasticity and Resilience, Assessing Fiber Surface Texture and Appearance, Understanding Fiber Cohesion and Friction Properties.

Module 3: Fiber Composition and Identification: Methods for Fiber Identification (Microscopy, Burn Test, Solubility Test), Chemical Testing for Fiber Composition (FTIR, DSC, UV-Vis), Analyzing Fiber Blends and Mixtures, Understanding the Role of Fiber Content in Textile Properties, Testing for Fiber Purity and Contaminants, Determining the Effect of Fiber Composition on Dyeing and Finishing.

Module 4: Dyeability and Color Fastness of Fibers: Testing Fiber Dyeability (Color Absorption, Affinity to Dyes), Evaluating Fiber for Color Fastness (Washing, Light, Rubbing Fastness), Fiber-Specific Dyeing Techniques and Challenges, Identifying Fiber Types Based on Dyeing Behavior, Testing for Dye Uptake and Exhaustion, Understanding the Role of Fiber in the Dyeing Process.

Module 5: Fiber Testing Equipment and Methodologies: Introduction to Fiber Testing Instruments (Micrometers, Fiber Length Tester, Strength Tester), Calibration and Maintenance of Testing Equipment, Standardized Fiber Testing Methods (ISO 1833, ASTM D1577), Sample Preparation for Fiber Testing, Analyzing and Interpreting Fiber Test Results, Ensuring Accuracy and Consistency in Fiber Testing.

Module 6: Reporting, Documentation, and Quality Control: Documenting Fiber Test Results and Preparing Reports, Communicating Findings to Production and Quality Control Teams, Understanding Statistical Analysis for Fiber Testing (Mean, Standard Deviation, Coefficient of Variation), Ensuring Compliance with Industry Standards and Certifications (OEKO-TEX, REACH), Quality Control Procedures in Fiber Testing, Emerging Trends in Fiber Testing (Automation, Digital Analysis).
