Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Documentary Filmmaking: History and evolution of documentary cinema, Types and genres of documentaries, Ethics and responsibilities of documentary filmmakers, Key elements of documentary storytelling, Famous documentary filmmakers and their works, Introduction to international documentary film festivals.

Module 2: Research and Development: Topic selection and idea development, Conducting factual and credible research, Writing a documentary proposal, Preparing a treatment and synopsis, Budgeting and funding sources, Legal and copyright considerations.

Module 3: Pre-Production Planning: Scriptwriting for documentaries, Storyboarding and shot planning, Crew roles and responsibilities, Equipment selection and planning, Scheduling and location scouting, Interview techniques and preparation.

Module 4: Production Techniques: Camera techniques and framing for documentaries, Lighting for different environments, Recording high-quality sound, Conducting live interviews, B-roll and observational shooting, Managing on-location challenges.

Module 5: Post-Production Process: Editing styles and techniques in documentary, Using editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro), Sound design and audio mixing, Voice-over and narration recording, Color correction and grading, Creating subtitles and translations.

Module 6: Distribution and Career Development: Film festival strategies and submissions, Online platforms and digital distribution, Marketing and promotional tools, Pitching your documentary to broadcasters, Building a filmmaker portfolio and showreel, Career pathways and freelance opportunities in documentary filmmaking.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.

  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
