Objective: The Certified Digital Journalist course is designed to prepare individuals for the evolving demands of journalism in the digital age by combining traditional reporting skills with modern multimedia, mobile, and online tools. The course covers digital news gathering, mobile journalism (MoJo), writing for web and social media, SEO best practices, content management systems (CMS), video and podcast production, live reporting, audience engagement, and data visualization.
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.
Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.
Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.
Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.
Assessment Modules:
Module 1: Introduction to Digital Journalism: Definition and evolution of digital journalism, Key differences from traditional print and broadcast journalism, Roles and responsibilities of a digital journalist, Understanding the digital news ecosystem and audience behavior, Ethics, accuracy, and verification in the digital age, Overview of digital-first newsrooms and workflows.
Module 2: Content Creation for Digital Platforms: Writing for web: clarity, conciseness, and SEO practices, Crafting engaging headlines, intros, and CTAs, Integrating hyperlinks, metadata, and keywords, Creating multimedia-rich articles (photos, videos, embeds), Formatting content for web and mobile consumption, Adapting stories for various digital formats (blogs, newsletters, microblogs).
Module 3: Mobile and Social Media Journalism: Using smartphones for mobile journalism (MoJo), Capturing and editing on-the-go photos, videos, and audio, Live blogging, tweeting, and real-time reporting, Best practices for news on platforms like X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Leveraging trends, hashtags, and social listening tools, Audience interaction and digital engagement strategies.
Module 4: Multimedia and Visual Storytelling: Introduction to visual storytelling formats (infographics, animations, timelines), Creating explainer videos and visual reels, Basics of audio storytelling and podcasting, Tools for multimedia editing (Canva, Adobe, Audacity, Anchor), Combining text, visuals, and audio into digital packages, Designing interactive digital experiences and stories.
Module 5: Digital Tools, Analytics, and Verification: Tools for digital publishing and CMS platforms (WordPress, Medium), Web analytics basics (Google Analytics, social metrics), Measuring reach, impressions, CTR, and engagement, Using fact-checking tools and reverse image search, Verifying digital content: videos, photos, user-generated content (UGC), Staying safe online: digital hygiene and cyber safety for journalists.
Module 6: Career Building and Innovation in Digital Journalism: Building an online journalist portfolio and brand, Freelancing and pitching to digital platforms, Exploring monetization models (ads, subscriptions, creator tools), Collaborating with designers, developers, and editors, Exploring trends like data journalism, AI in news, immersive journalism (VR/AR), Professional networking and continuous learning in the digital space.
GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:
- Duration- 60 minutes.

- Language: English.
- Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
- Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
