Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).
Objective: The Certified Pranayama Instructor course is designed to provide students with comprehensive training in the science and practice of Pranayama (breath control), enabling them to teach it effectively to others. Pranayama, a key aspect of yoga, involves regulating the breath to improve physical health, mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual awareness.
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.
Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.
Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.
Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.
Assessment Modules:
Module 1: Introduction to Pranayama: The origins and history of Pranayama in yogic traditions, The concept of Prana (life force energy) and its role in yoga, Key principles of Pranayama (breath control, energy flow, and consciousness), Overview of the benefits of Pranayama for physical, mental, and spiritual health, Understanding the connection between breath and mind, The importance of breath awareness in yogic practices.
Module 2: Anatomy and Physiology of Breath: Anatomy of the respiratory system (diaphragm, lungs, nose, and airways), How breath affects the autonomic nervous system (sympathetic vs. parasympathetic), The physiological impact of Pranayama on heart rate, blood pressure, and brain function, The role of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the body, Breath as a tool for detoxification and energy regulation, The concept of the subtle body (nadis, prana, chakras) and breath’s influence.
Module 3: Basic Pranayama Techniques: Step-by-step guidance on core Pranayama practices (e.g., Ujjayi, Nadi Shodhana, Bhastrika, Kapalbhati, Anulom Vilom), Techniques for deepening breath awareness and concentration, The principles of inhalation, retention (Kumbhaka), and exhalation, How to integrate Bandhas (energy locks) in Pranayama, The importance of rhythm and pace in Pranayama, Benefits and therapeutic effects of each basic Pranayama technique.
Module 4: Pranayama for Mental and Emotional Well-Being: Using Pranayama to reduce stress, anxiety, and mental tension, Techniques to calm the mind and enhance focus (e.g., Ujjayi, Nadi Shodhana), The role of breath in emotional regulation and balance, Breathwork for cultivating mental clarity and emotional stability, Exploring the connection between breath and the nervous system, Using Pranayama to balance the energetic body and promote inner peace.
Module 5: Teaching Pranayama to Students: How to create a safe and supportive environment for Pranayama practice, Structuring a Pranayama class for different levels of students (beginner, intermediate, advanced), Proper alignment and posture for effective breathwork, How to adjust Pranayama techniques for individual students (physical limitations, health conditions), Providing clear, effective instructions and cues, Encouraging mindful practice and awareness of breath during sessions.
Module 6: Ethics, Professionalism, and Building Your Pranayama Practice: Ethical considerations for a Pranayama instructor (confidentiality, integrity, respect), Establishing a strong personal practice and role model, Best practices for building trust and rapport with students, Structuring and promoting Pranayama classes and workshops, Marketing and growing a Pranayama-based practice (in-person and online), Continuing education and professional development as a Pranayama instructor.

- Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
- Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
