Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).
Objective: The Certified Fabric Testing Specialist course aims to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills to conduct a wide range of fabric tests that evaluate the physical, chemical, and performance properties of textiles. The course covers standardized testing methods for strength, elasticity, abrasion resistance, colorfastness, pH, shrinkage, and other quality parameters in accordance with industry standards (ISO, ASTM, AATCC).
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.
Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.
Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.
Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Fabric Testing: Overview of Fabric Testing, Importance of Fabric Testing in the Textile Industry, Types of Fabric Tests (Physical, Chemical, Performance), Key Testing Standards and Guidelines (ISO, ASTM, AATCC), Role and Responsibilities of a Fabric Testing Specialist, Common Fabric Defects and How Testing Addresses Them.
Module 2: Fabric Physical Properties Testing: Testing for Fabric Strength (Tensile, Tear, Bursting Strength), Measuring Fabric Durability and Abrasion Resistance, Testing for Flexural Rigidity and Drape, Methods for Testing Shrinkage and Growth, Measuring Fabric Stiffness and Softness, Evaluating Fabric Comfort (Handle, Softness, and Breathability).
Module 3: Chemical Testing for Fabrics: Understanding Chemical Testing Methods (pH, Formaldehyde, Heavy Metals, Azo Dyes), Assessing the Safety of Fabric Finishes (Flame Retardant, Water Repellent, Anti-bacterial), Testing for Dye Fastness (Color Fastness to Washing, Light, Rubbing, Perspiration), Chemical Residue Testing in Textiles, Ensuring Compliance with Regulatory Standards (OEKO-TEX, REACH), Sustainable and Eco-friendly Chemical Testing Practices.
Module 4: Performance and Functional Testing: Testing for Thermal Comfort and Insulation, Evaluating Moisture Wicking and Absorbency, Conducting Water Repellency and Resistance Tests, Testing for UV Protection and Resistance, Evaluating Stretch and Recovery Properties, Performance Testing for Technical Textiles (e.g., Sportswear, Workwear).
Module 5: Fabric Testing Equipment and Methodologies: Introduction to Fabric Testing Instruments (Instron, Martindale Abrasion Tester, Elmendorf Tear Tester), Calibration and Maintenance of Testing Equipment, Standardized Testing Methods (AATCC, ISO, ASTM Standards), Sample Preparation and Conditioning for Testing, Analyzing and Interpreting Test Data, Handling and Storing Fabric Samples for Testing.
