Objective: The Certified Smoke Control Specialist course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and practical expertise in managing smoke movement and control strategies in buildings and infrastructure. The course covers the principles of smoke dynamics, types of smoke control systems (natural and mechanical), pressurization methods, smoke extraction systems, fire and smoke modeling, and the integration of HVAC with smoke management.
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.
Assessment Modules:
Module 1: Introduction to Smoke Control and Fire Dynamics: Fundamentals of fire and smoke behavior in enclosed spaces, Types and sources of smoke in fire incidents, Impact of smoke on human safety and property, Objectives and importance of smoke control systems, Regulatory standards and codes (NBC, NFPA 92, ISO, BS), Role and responsibilities of a Smoke Control Specialist.
Module 2: Smoke Control Systems and Design Principles: Types of smoke control systems (natural, mechanical, pressurization), Principles of airflow, pressure differential, and smoke movement, Smoke extraction vs smoke containment strategies, System design criteria based on occupancy and building type, Zoning and compartmentalization for effective smoke control, Integration with fire detection and suppression systems.
Module 3: Components and Equipment in Smoke Control Systems: Smoke vents, fans, dampers, ducts, and control panels, Fire-rated enclosures and smoke barriers, Use of fire curtains and shutters in smoke containment, Role of HVAC systems in smoke management, Electrical and backup power supply requirements, Equipment specifications, installation, and maintenance standards.
Module 4: Testing, Commissioning, and Maintenance Protocols: Pre-commissioning checks and performance testing procedures, Functional testing of automatic and manual controls, Maintenance schedules for fans, dampers, sensors, and alarms, Inspection of airflow and pressure differential parameters, Recordkeeping and compliance documentation, Troubleshooting and fault rectification practices.
Module 5: Risk Assessment, Safety Planning, and Emergency Integration: Smoke hazard identification and risk analysis in various occupancies, Integration of smoke control with fire risk assessment plans, Smoke control strategy in emergency evacuation scenarios, Coordination with fire departments and emergency responders, Scenario-based planning and impact assessment, Evaluating visibility, toxicity, and time-to-tenability.
Module 6: Codes, Compliance, and Audit Procedures: Review of national and international smoke control regulations (NBC Part 4, NFPA 92), Compliance with local authority fire safety requirements, Developing inspection checklists and audit protocols, Non-compliance identification and corrective action planning, Certification and third-party validation processes, Case studies on smoke control failures and successful implementations.
