Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Cold Storage Manager course is designed to equip participants with specialized knowledge and skills required to operate and oversee temperature-controlled storage facilities used for perishable goods such as food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. The course covers cold chain logistics, refrigeration systems, temperature monitoring, inventory management, storage layout planning, pest control, hygiene protocols, energy efficiency, and emergency preparedness. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Cold Storage Operations and Industry Standards: Overview of cold storage and its role in the supply chain, Types of cold storage: chilled, frozen, blast freezing, cryogenic, Common industries served: food, pharma, floriculture, chemicals, Key regulatory and industry standards: FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, Roles and responsibilities of a Cold Storage Manager, Safety, hygiene, and quality requirements in temperature-controlled storage.

Module 2: Cold Chain Infrastructure and Facility Design: Design and layout of cold storage facilities for efficient workflow, Selection of refrigeration systems: ammonia vs Freon, energy-efficient options, Insulation materials and thermal performance considerations, Temperature zoning, racking systems, and space utilization, Emergency power supply, backup systems, and fire safety infrastructure, Environmental control: air circulation, humidity, and lighting systems.

Module 3: Temperature Monitoring and Product Handling: Temperature requirements for different product categories, Calibration and use of temperature monitoring devices: thermometers, data loggers, Real-time temperature tracking systems and alert mechanisms, Handling protocols for temperature-sensitive goods: loading/unloading, Preventing temperature excursions and corrective actions, Training staff on safe and efficient product handling in cold environments.

Module 4: Inventory Management and Warehouse Operations: Inventory control techniques: FEFO, FIFO, batch tracking, Stock rotation and expiry monitoring in cold storage, Integration of WMS with barcode/RFID for stock visibility, Receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch procedures for cold goods, Documentation and traceability for perishable inventory, Coordination with transport, suppliers, and customers.

Module 5: Maintenance, Safety, and Compliance: Preventive maintenance of refrigeration and storage equipment, Safety protocols for ammonia handling, PPE usage, and confined space, Compliance with labor, food safety, and health regulations, Pest control, sanitation, and waste disposal practices, Risk assessment and emergency response planning, Internal audits, inspections, and quality assurance programs.

Module 6: Energy Management, Cost Control, and Technology Adoption: Energy consumption analysis and reduction strategies, Use of renewable energy and thermal energy storage solutions, Cost optimization in refrigeration, maintenance, and logistics, Automation in cold storage: AS/RS, mobile racking, IoT integration, Data analytics for performance monitoring and efficiency improvement, Capstone project: develop a compliant, efficient, and sustainable cold storage management plan.
