Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Economic Journalism: Role and significance of economic journalism in society, Key differences between economic reporting and general reporting, Overview of the global and national economic systems, Core principles of journalism applied to economics, Ethical responsibilities and challenges in economic reporting, Understanding audiences for economic news.

Module 2: Fundamentals of Economics and Finance: Basic economic concepts (GDP, inflation, unemployment, fiscal/monetary policy), Understanding financial markets, currencies, and trade, Economic indicators and what they reveal, Government budgets, taxation, and subsidies, Role of central banks and international institutions (IMF, World Bank), Business cycles and market behavior.

Module 3: Reporting on Economic Policy and Institutions: Covering policy decisions from government and financial institutions, Interpreting economic surveys, reports, and budgets, Reporting on interest rate changes, economic reforms, and public debt, Analyzing policy impacts on sectors and citizens, Interviewing economists, analysts, and policymakers, Understanding regulatory and planning bodies.

Module 4: Business and Financial Journalism Techniques: Reading and interpreting company reports, stock market data, and financial statements, Writing business news, profiles, and features, Covering corporate earnings, mergers, and economic trends, Data storytelling using graphs and visual aids, Ethics in covering corporations and market-sensitive information, Tracking and explaining market fluctuations.

Module 5: Digital Tools and Multimedia in Economic Journalism: Using data journalism tools (Excel, Datawrapper, Tableau), Real-time reporting with financial dashboards and feeds, Podcasting and video production for economic stories, SEO and writing economic content for digital platforms, Monitoring economic trends using web tools and APIs, Mobile apps and newsletters for economic reporting.

Module 6: Career Development and Specialization: Building a portfolio of economic and financial stories, Freelance vs newsroom opportunities in economic journalism, Covering beats like trade, industry, agriculture, banking, or labor, Networking with economic think tanks and institutions, Pitching economic stories to local and international outlets, Staying updated with economic trends and global developments.
